TENNIS ACADEMY

The Ian Smith Tennis Academy, based at Malta Union Club, has experienced and enthusiastic beginning with ‘mini tennis’ players from all quarters of the island attending sessions.

I am delighted with the Union Club as a venue and am proud to be a member. I am also very grateful to the COM for their assistance and to Mr Adrian Camilleri for his ever present advice and support.

The summer program will be shortened this year in order to encourage members to send their family and extended family and friends’ children to the groups.

The schedule is as follows:

August 2^nd – 6^th SUMMER WEEK 1 9am – 12pm Euro 75

August 9^th - 13^th SUMMER WEEK 2 9am – 12pm Euro 75

Combined weeks ‘special deal’ – Euro 140

During these 2 weeks the sessions will be packed with FUN, COACHING and COMPETITION. Suitable for children under the age of 10.

Last month I welcomed ITF juniors from Ireland and Norway for a weeks training. This training was so successful, one of the players returned 3 weeks later for a further training week and is now an official academy player.

I would like to appeal further to the membership to enrol any family member in the mini tennis programme.
