TENNIS ACADEMY -
Tennis Academy summer 2010 programme
Interview with Ian Smith
The Committee of Management of the Club has approved the idea of
launching a “Tennis Academy” at the Club in the immediate future.
In this respect arrangement have been made with Mr. Ian Smith, a
professional tennis coach, to run the Academy in co-ordination with the
Club’s tennis sub-committee.
The desperate need for the introduction of new players and young
children into the sport of tennis had been duly identified for a number
of years, and it is consequently our aim to meet that requirement and
deliver a world-class ‘mini tennis’ program that will not only introduce
new players, but also offer them a professional structure that will help
retain them in this fantastic sport for a lifetime. Mr. Smith sees the
Malta Union Club as the ideal venue considering the location and
prestigious history that the club has to offer.
